Welcoming Ben Parry
In the first of several exciting new works by leading choral composer and conductor Ben Parry, we are thrilled to welcome him to our Choral Now series with his masterly setting of words by the remarkable Nobel-winning chemist Professor Sir John ‘Kappa’ Cornforth (1917–2013).
In a musical first, Ben sets the tongue-twister ‘para dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane’ – better known as DDT – as the climax of his hilarious Science Song. Young performers will relish singing this very grown-up word, and in three-part canon at that. Adults will enjoy the mix of physics, funky music, and witty text.
