The second of Boyce’s all-sung afterpieces, The Shepherd’s Lottery, opened on 19 November 1751. The Shepherd’s Lottery was performed nightly until 26 November and followed a different play each night. Thereafter it was intermixed with other afterpieces for the rest of the season, which ended in May 1752.
