An attractive Epiphany carol to words written by the composer, Follow the star is based on a dynamic chorus in straight rock style, interleaved with verses that might be taken as solo passages for one or more singers in a unison and piano performance. For the concluding return of the refrain the music rises a semitone to F sharp major to clinch the mood of celebration. Teachers, conductors and young performers may wish to exploit the possibilities for processional performance, mime and acting to add to the fun.
