Northcott at 80

We join Bayan Northcott’s many friends and colleagues in conveying our warmest good wishes on his eightieth birthday. Bayan is the composer of a tight corpus of works that reimagine traditions of sonata, rondo, variation and fantasia through the prism of a unique musical sensibility which has likewise enlightened generations of music lovers in his reviews and articles for the New Statesman, The Sunday Telegraph and The Independent. His selected writings may be enjoyed in The Way We Listen Now, available from Boydell & Brewer, with further information about his output of instrumental, vocal and keyboard music available at Stainer & Bell.
