Thomas Tallis ( c.1505–1585)

Thomas Tallis served as a musician in the royal court under four monarchs, including King Henry VIII, King Edward VI, Queen Mary I, and Queen Elizabeth I.

Little is known about the early life of Tallis, but it is thought that he was boy chorister of the Chapel Royal.

Tallis married around 1552 and died in Greenwich in November 1585 where he was buried in the chancel of the parish of St Alfege Church.
