Hall, Alex: Lullaby for Matthew
From: £3.00
Born in 1979 and educated at Oxford University, Alex Hall writes in an approachable, contemporary style and his choral works have proved popular with chamber choirs, choral societies, parish church, college, and cathedral choirs. His setting of the medieval carol “Make We Joy” has been especially well-liked and performed in carol services across the UK. Alex has often been commissioned to write for specific occasions, and his two works in the Choral Now series are examples of music commissioned for particular celebrations. Alex is a singer, organist, conductor and accompanist. He was a chorister at Barnet Parish Church; held organ scholarships in Edinburgh and Oxford; directed the Arcadian Singers at Oxford; and has held singing and organist positions in various college chapels and parish churches. He now lives in St Albans, Hertfordshire, where his works regularly feature in the repertoire of St Peter’s Church.
